Wellington on the subjects of the large color photographs, taken in the waters of the Galapagos, Maldives, Coral Sea, Philippines, Palau, Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, Baja California, California, Hawaii, Fiji, and British Columbia. With custom made polyester jacket that has a short tear. Spots of blue ink from frontispiece transferred to title page, otherwise no significant defects. Pitcairn spent more than 3,000 hours underwater, photographing and filming anemones, starfish, squid, sponges, kelp, seals, coral, sharks, iguana, rays, turtles, clams, sea snakes, jellyfish, and other marine life in remote ocean sites across the world. His photography exhibit, "Galapagos Born of the Sea,” which opened at the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History, traveled on a four-year tour with the Smithsonian Institute Traveling Exhibits.
