Items illustrated, although reproduction quality poor in the Skylight catalogs, better in the Etter.  Skylight catalogs, issued by the Basile Organization, are fixed price; Etter catalog is an auction with estimated values. Includes 1853 text concerning daguerreotype preservation about an invention by Solomon N. Carvalho, the first Jewish photographer in the U.S., of an enamel coating for daguerreotypes so that they did not have to be put into cases.
