Bunny Yeager (1929–2014) was a pioneering American photographer and model who revolutionized mid-20th-century glamour photography by bringing a distinct female gaze to a male-dominated field. Beginning her career as a popular model in Miami during the late 1940s, Yeager transitioned behind the lens after taking photojournalism classes, leveraging her intimate knowledge of posing, technical lighting, and bikini design to make her subjects feel comfortable and empowered. She achieved national fame in the 1950s for discovering icon Bettie Page—photographing her famous Playboy centerfold and iconic jungle-themed portraits—and went on to shoot key imagery for pop culture landmarks, including famous promotional stills of Ursula Andress for the James Bond film Dr. No. Over a career spanning decades, Yeager published dozen of books, broke industry barriers as one of the few female pin-up photographers of her era, and fundamentally reshaped female eroticism and beach-culture aesthetics in American media.
