A collection of RPS publications, including RPS Pictorial Group Newsletter, September 1985, March 1987, and January 1992; annual reports of the RPS Council, 1985, 1987, and 1990; Catalogue of the Annual International Slide Competition and Exhibition, 1986-87; RPS Historic Group Quarterly, renamed the Photo-Historian in Spring 1989, from Summer 1986 to Winter 1992; folded poster about the National Centre of Photography and the Royal Photographic Society; and several other RPS items.  Total 40 items, of which the Photo-Historian newsletters are the most substantial, some with 20 or more pages.  Condition very good or better with some folded corners on the paper covers.  Some of the topics and individuals covered in the historical newsletters include early medical radiology; history of the Société Lumière; cyanide poisoning; 1887 Centenaries by Michael Pritchard; Polaroid 160 Land Camera; Frederick Whaley, photographic artist; The Beato Brothers; The First Kodak Camera by Michael Pritchard; origins of the soft focus lens by Roy C. Hungerford; Sir Humphrey Davy; history of the Japan Camera and Optical Instruments Inspection and Testing Institute; Purma and VN Cameras; Cuthbert Bede; William Henry Fox Talbot; exotic portraits by dealer Ken Jacobson; J.B. Dancer's microphotographs; William Saunders, early photographer in China and Japan; early artificial light photography; Harold Edgerton and flash photography; Herbert C. Ponting; George Eastman by Chris Roberts, Kodak Archivist (two-part article); Eadweard Muybridge; Madame Yevonde; William Mortensen; and many more.  Some newsletters include illustrations, the reproduction quality of which varies with paper used.
