Friends of Photography. 7 Workshop Catalogs, 1982–1989.

In its heyday, the Friends of Photography, which began in Carmel with the encouragement of Ansel Adams and later moved to San Francisco, was a major educational organization that hosted workshops by highly renowned photographers, photo historians, critics, et al.  These illustrated catalogs document the FOP's programs in the 1980s, with workshop descriptions and biographies of the faculty.  Some of the teachers in these catalogs were Ansel Adams, Ruth Bernhard, Roy DeCarava, Mary Ellen Mark, Joel Meyerowitz, Olivia Parker, Marsha Burns, Richard Misrach, John Sexton, John Upton, Peter Bunnell, Andy Grundberg, Morley Baer, Robert Cumming, Bruce Davidson, Willard Van Dyke, Jo Ann Callis, Van Deren Coke, Robbert Flick, Ellen Land-Weber, Mike Mandel, Larry Sultan, Linda Connor, Jerry Uelsmann, Frank Gohlke, Lou Stoumen, Jack Welpott, Alan Ross, Ellen Manchester, Wanda Hammerbeck, Danny Lyon, Donald McCullin, Susan Meiselas, Burk Uzzle, Ralph Gibson, Beaumont Newhall, Henry Gilpin, Barbara Morgan, Wright Morris, Don Worth, Lucien Clergue, Eugene Richards, Bruce Barnbaum, Eliot Porter, Brian Lanker, Robert Heinecken, Barbara Kasten, Joyce Neimanas, Benedict J.
